This course is designed to study, examine and analyze the characteristics of chromosomes that contains genetic information of a person. Additionally, to explain the process of inheriting traits that may cause hereditary diseases caused by abnormalities in genes. Also, this course discusses about local biodiversity that keeps the living organisms in balance. Biodiversity may affects the livelihood of humans, animals and plants so, studying about biodiversity is important to know the factors that may affect each organism that coexist in a certain environment. Furthermore, due to the advancement in science, biotechnology plays an important role in continuing to make significant contributions to extending the human lifespan and improving quality of life, including providing products and therapies to combat diseases, and generating higher crop yields. Moreover, this course also designed to explain about ecosystem and how energy transfer happens in the form of food chain and food web.

This course is designed to study the shape, nature, and structure of the plant and animal cells using a light microscope to examine the shape and cell function of both cells. Moreover, in this semester, the learners will study the organization of living things from a cell until it becomes an organism including the diffusion and osmosis processes which is important in carrying substances inside and outside of a cell. Additionally, the students will also study about plants and how plants make their own food in the process called photosynthesis which is important for both humans and animals, including how plants reproduce either sexually or asexually. Lastly, they will also know how seeds are formed and developed in the process called germination. On the other hand, this semester also includes the discussion of atoms, elements, and compounds. They will learn how elements were grouped according to their properties and characteristics. They will study atomic structure, bonding forces between particles, and the movement of particles of the same substance in the state of solid, liquid, or gas. Indeed, technology is now part of everyday living, so the students should know the main concept of technology and how they can integrate the uses of technology in their life.

This course is designed to study linear inequalities in one variable, quadratic equations in one variable, quadratic functions, pyramids, cone and spheres, and probability.

The first part of this course focuses on solving and graphing linear inequalities in one variable. It aims the student to solve real-world problems related to this topic. The learners will also solve quadratic equation in one variable by factorization and completing the square. Furthermore, they will also understand the concept of quadratic functions including graphing of quadratic functions in the form y= ( x – h ) ( x – k) or y = - ( x -  h ) ( x – k )  or graphing of quadratic functions using the form  and they will solve real- world application using its’ concept.  Additionally, pyramids, cones, and spheres are also included in this course and it will end up learning the concept of probability and its application to real- life.

This course is designed to study about exponents as an integer and using multiplication and division to solve exponential equation and rewriting numbers into scientific notation and apply these knowledge in real life situation. Additionally, it also aims to teach on how to rewrite repeating decimals into fraction numbers and vice versa. Studying this course will also help the students to understand on how to solve for the square root and cube root of real numbers using factorization method, estimation method and using calculator. Furthermore, learning about polynomials is also the focus of this course. Simplifying polynomials and applying the four fundamental operations in mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in solving polynomial equation. Moreover, the concept of geometric transformation and its types will be introduced to the students such as translation, reflection, and rotation. Also, it will discuss the relationship between the different types of geometric transformation and show the importance of these in real-life setting. Similarly, this course will talk through geometric figures such as congruent triangles. Two triangles are said to be congruent if pairs of their corresponding sides and their corresponding angles are equal. They are of the same shape and size. There are many conditions of congruence in triangles that will be discuss to the students. Likewise, parallel lines and triangles will be further elaborate in this course.

This course is designed to study and compare integers, discuss the opposite number and absolute value, add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers.  Also, the students will be able to solve integers using the different properties and they will be able to apply its concept in real- world problems. Additionally, this course aims to study and compare fractions using the four fundamental operations of mathematics and apply the concepts of fraction to real-world problems. Moreover, it also focuses on studying and comparing decimals using the four fundamental operations (except the concept of repeating decimals). It also pointed out the relationship of fractions and decimals and apply the concepts of decimal to real life.  Next in line is writing an exponent with positive integer. It elaborates on how to multiply and divide if the exponent is positive. The students will also write numbers using the scientific notation method and understand its importance in real- world situation. Moreover, this course tackles about geometry specifically about cross-sectioning of three- dimensional figures, describing two-dimensional by obtaining its’ front, sides and top view of a three- dimensional geometric figure. Lastly, this course also includes solving linear equation with one variable and its importance to real world.
